The inventor of the world’s first lightweight Nitrile glove in 2002, Hartalega created an unprecedented demand shift from latex to nitrile gloves worldwide as a result of its innovative breakthrough. The company is now the largest producer of nitrile gloves in the world, churning out 16 billion gloves a year.
The 12-ha factory in Sepang houses its RM1.9bil plant which operates 72 new high tech production lines. Their production lines have the capacity of producing up to 45,000 pieces of gloves in just an hour, thanks to their own proprietary system unique to the company. Every single aspect of production is closely monitored through state-of-the-art information technology which provides real-time updates both on-site and remotely. This enables the company to immediately identify and quickly resolve potential issues to minimise downtime.
