Located in a dedicated high-tech park with good infrastructure and access to the airport, lnfineon’s wafer fabrication facility in Kulim Hi-Tech Park, Kedah, is its first wafer fab in Asia and presently employs 1800 staff. The Kulim plant has added a building-shell which can include a new 12,000 square meter fab facility with the potential to double production capacity. With Fab 2, Infineon Kulim is positioned as the manufacturing competence centre of semiconductors focusing on the efficient use of electric energy and the electrification of automobile for improved performance and safety as well reduced carbon emission.
